Wheels Up!!!

Today we take off on, hopefully, the final leg of this adventure.  The past couple of days have been a whirlwind.  Got rid of lots of old clothes, some to girlfriends and 12 shopping bags to the thrift store.  Cousins David and Pauline drove all the way down from Maine and then spent an entire day chauffeuring me around Howard and Baltimore Counties and Annapolis for final notary certifications and apostilles.  We had a great lunch at Chick & Ruth's in Annapolis - the crab cake sandwiches almost made up for all the miles on the car and the traffic.  We finished moving furniture and re-organizing our stuff in our new room upstairs.  The office is back together and now has a daybed.  Aunt Gloria has offered to get our house professionally cleaned before our return - one of the best gifts ever!!  Ted has set us up with iPad, Airport Express, cables, connectors, travel cases and anything else to keep us connected and looking as techie as possible.  Our parents have been feeding us all weekend so we can just keep working around the house. The packing is almost done, but I will probably find a bunch of stuff to cram in the suitcases.  The car seat is installed for our return - wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be.  I think all the paperwork is organized, but will call our adoption social worker one more time today to review it.  We still have a few chores to do/run before Ted takes us to the airport.  I think the kitties would appreciate clean kitty boxes!  They are going to have some adjustment issues when we return since a new little person will rule the roost.  I sure hope we can sleep on the plane.  We will try to keep this updated every day - hopefully the internet works at our apartment.  Thanks again for everything!

  1. Hey John and Veronica..God speed to both of you. I am so excited for both of you and can't wait to meet your little man when you all arrive home. I will be going to Nags Head for the 4th and will be sure to share your news with everyone. Perhaps next year you all will make the trip down and introduce the little guy to the Gaz-bo! Take care and smooches and hugs to both of you. Love, Tracy xoxo
