Second Sunday

We started off the day with oatmeal which was enjoyed much more than the last attempt. We made it to church but left during the sermon as the little guy started to act up. A quick trip to the tiny grocery next to the church and then home because it was starting to rain. Saulius and dad went to the tourist info office while I was in the store and the little guy, once again, chatted up the staff. It rained hard all day long and we were stuck inside. We had an early lunch at home, hoping that the rain would stop, but no such luck. We watched the Wizard of Oz which we had introduced Saulius to last night. It has once again been confirmed that my singing voice stinks - I was holding Saulius on my lap and singing along and he covered my mouth with his hand. Guess there's no point learning any lullabies. Also tried to watch Cars but our disc keeps skipping. We played with trucks, Mom did two little puzzles, and we all colored. We found some freebie kids iPad apps that are puzzles of trucks/vehicles. We did them over and over and over and.......... They do require some eye/hand coordination and he seemed to memorize them quickly. This weather never cooperated until dinner time, so we went out to dinner just to get out of the house. Saulius ordered himself a "cocktail" - its what they call milkshakes. Saulius has decided that he doesn't want to eat much anymore and wants to play with his food. However he does love cold beet soup, so Grandma Veronica better have a gallon or two ready for him - and he likes to put his hot potatoes in the soup! After dinner we did a different walk around town and found two little museums to visit this week - the Amber museum and the church relic museum. After we got home bath time again, and he's getting better about it. Maybe he realizes that he can have one every day, not just a few times a week. I did more laundry since two pairs of jeans fills the washer. We did buy two kid items that have proven to be indispensable - a sippy cup with attached straw and a training potty. Saulius is too small to use a regular toilet without being held up, but he loves his kiddie pot. It also plays music when the sensor gets damp, so "My Darling Clementine" has a whole new meaning now.
Got to Skype with Ted via our iPhones for computer support - gotta love technology!
Tomorrow is our doctors appointment to have his physical for his visa. After that we might hit one of the big malls for the A/C and to avoid the rain. It's supposed to rain every day this week. Miss everyone and can't wait to come home.

I'm helping dad with the lunch dishes!

Let's do the puzzle of the police car again, and again, and again.....

Yummy beet soup, washed down with a milkshake!

Just me and my "cocktail"!

Thank goodness he's not old enough to ask for one and they were closed anyway.

Look dad, I can make cookie monster blue.

  1. Sounds like a little homesickness setting in, but all seems well, you're all healthy and I get the distinct feeling that you're all getting very comfortable and more relaxed with one and other. Not so bad for just 10 days!
